ainsleigh-burelle-1Ainsleigh Burelle is the Marketing Coordinator at The Next 36, and is the lead organizer for SOH TO 2016. Fun facts include: 1) She once bungee jumped by accident in Costa Rica. 2) If you can’t find her, she’s probably in the community garden. 3) She is deathly terrified of capybaras.

rsz_emily_krause_soh_photo Emily Krause  is the Events Coordinator at OneEleven, a tech scaleup accelerator. Emily is directing the after-party for Startup Open House Toronto. When she’s not neck-deep in planning events, you can find her planning her next adventure around the world! Share your travel favourites – she’s always up for adding to her bucket list.

rsz_karen_so_1

Karen So is an Operations Analyst at Myplanet, a digital services company that designs and builds engaging web and mobile products for the enterprise. She is the volunteer coordinator for SOH TO 2016. When not helping with tech events around Toronto, you can find Karen volunteering at TIFF and trying to find the best Flat White.

nora-b-1Nora Bieberstein is OneEleven’s Community Manager, and is the sponsorships lead. Nora is a crazy cat lady and used to spend hours volunteering and fostering at the Toronto Humane Society. She finally adopted her own two kittens! They don’t have an Instagram account (yet) but if you ask, she’ll bombard you with photos and cat stories.

rsz_ria Ria Riaz is Rightsleeve’s Marketing Manager, and is the content & community lead. It took her 10 minutes to think about a fun fact and she came up with nothing. FUN. Ria hiked the second highest mountain in Malaysia and on her way down, tumbled instead of walking down because she could hear wolves or so she thought. We’ll never know.

COMMUNITY MANAGER

Kristian Bright is the Head of Talent Acquisition at Lost My Name, a Google Venture backed personalised publishing startup based in London. Outside of work, Kristian helps to run a community for in-house recruiters in London called DBR. What started as 5 people talking about recruitment over a few beers has grown into a community of over 100 recruiters sharing knowledge, experiences and advice.

OUTREACH SUPPORT

It didn’t take take long for Layla Kidwai to realise that she was meant to be in the tech space. After starting her career at American Express and Robert half, she entered the world of tech working at Infusion, Dapasoft, Kijiji, eBay and PayPal. She’s now works at WorldRemit as the Head of Talent where she focuses on recruitment and employer branding.

Toronto’s startup ecosystem is diverse and full of life. And SOH is just one example of how dynamic the community is.

Startup Open House is giving people in the 6 the chance to walk into the inspiring, quirky, and fun workplaces of their city’s most innovative startups. Companies are opening their doors and providing free access to job seekers, investors, and curious neighbors to discover the startup world. By learning about these companies and their products from inside their workplaces, participants get a feel for the startup’s culture, vibe and values.

Into marketing? Meet the marketing guru. Interested in product design? Chat with the Head of Product. The company is yours to discover. That’s the beauty of Startup Open House.

This September 22nd 2016, be prepared to build your itinerary through the city’s registered startups, bring some resumes, business cards or just a good smile and hangout with Toronto’s top entrepreneurs, where they create.

Walk in. Discover. Connect.
